WARM WELCOME BY YOUTH & SUSTAINABILTY ENTHUSIASTS

True to its motto, “The World at your Fingertips”, Jula Consultancy has expanded its leadership in global sustainability education to China. We received an invitation to serve as a Keynote Speaker at “the 3rd Global Youth Climate Week”, which is being held from November 1 – 10, 2024, in preparation for COP29 in Baku, Azerbaijan. Consequently, Jula’s Sustainability Adviser will speak twice this week to Chinese youth, ESG enthusiasts and others in and outside China – on the 6th (today) as Keynote Speaker and the 10th of November as a panelist. The Keynote Speech is entitled “Demystifying ESG for the Youth: Practical Experience & Lessons from Africa”. Almost a thousand participants today showed up to listen to the presentations, which have already taken place.

The event is organized by 100 organizations, including a reputable Chinese NGO, Shanghai Green Light-Year. The mission of the organization is to encourage “the public to happily practice the concept of sustainable development … values ​​of innovation and entrepreneurship, courage to undertake, unity and cooperation, honesty and pragmatism”.

After many years of development, Green Light-Year is evolving into professional education for sustainable development (ESD) in China. The organization guides Chinese youth to the understanding of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and meeting the challenges of the 21st century. Green Light-Year has a very wide reach in government and private circles in China and very active in international sustainability fora. Youth teams coached by Green Light-Year have won or reached the finals in UNEP and World Bank Group sustainability competitions. Its proactive management, trained in China and the Western world, is led by the Cambridge-educated founding Managing Director, Huan Ni.
