After meeting Omani engineers and an engineering executive from Saudi Arabia’s biggest mining corporation, our day ended with a 3-hour red carpet treatment by another team of engineers at NSK Consultants, a regional consultancy with an office in Dubai. The meeting with NSK drew our attention to a credible One-Stop Shop for investment, financial and technical advice, in and from Saudi Arabia, by a team of young male and female computer, industrial, chemical, genetic and biological engineers. They work under the leadership of their highly experienced Chairman, Dr. Nasser S. Kadasah, a Saudi engineer and investment expert. Dr Kadasah has 33 years of experience, with B.Sc in mechanical engineering from King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals, M.Sc in management engineering from the University of Bridgeport, CN (USA), MBA and PhD in international business from the University of Brimingham (UK). His doctorate studies were done under the Distinguished Professor John Child, Fellow of the British Academy. He has a thorough knowledge of Saudi culture and industry, and the needs of investors (local and foreign). His team took me through the various projects they are working on in a number of foreign countries and the opportunities for investment and finance in the Saudi industrial (in particular) and other sectors. I learnt from them how cheap and accessible land can be if one understands and goes through the right processes. Financing also can be sought through the same processes.
